Hacks editor Susan Vaill, ACE chats with Roberta Bononi BFE.
Susan Vaill, ACE, is an award-winning editor of both comedy and drama. Her love of music, subtext and feminist storytelling has helped create cultural landmarks that audiences return to again and again: Hacks, Abbott Elementary, Quiz Lady, This Is Us and Grey’s Anatomy. After editing the debut season of Hacks, Susan won the 2022 ACE Eddie Award and the HPA Award for best edited television comedy, and received Emmy nominations for her Hacks comedy editing in 2021 and 2025.
